Not as bad as last time, thankfully…

Following a status orange weather warning on Sunday morning thanks to overnight snow, it seems things should be back to normal quite soon.

Met Éireann has issued an update to its national weather warnings, removing the orange alert and extending the yellow snow-ice warning until 10am on Monday 19 March.

Though the yellow warning is in place nationwide, Leinster and Munster are the areas expected to be worst affected by low temperatures, icy patches and lying snow.

People are advised to watch out for slippery paths and roads due to build-up of ice on untreated surfaces.

Isolated snow showers are expected to continue on Sunday night and into Monday, when temperatures will reach no higher than 4-5 degrees, and while temperatures will improve from Tuesday onwards, expect plenty of rain to follow later in the week.
