Depending on where you are in the country, you could be sunbathing at this moment or squinting looking at the clouds wondering just how long the sun is going to last.

Well, if you’re in the south east of the country, it’s probably a good idea to stay looking over the next day or so because Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Waterford.

The warning was issued at 11am on Saturday and is valid from 5am on Sunday until 9pm on the same day.

Met Éireann has warned that persistent and potentially heavy rain during Sunday will lead to accumulations between 25 to 40mm.

The forecaster also said there is the potential for this warning to be extended to other counties.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Europe will likely face a heatwave next week, with AccuWeather stating it could be “potentially dangerous”, although Ireland is not going to see much of it.
