Met Éireann has issued a rainfall warning for eight counties

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning affecting eight counties. The warning covers Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford. It was issued at 10am on Tuesday and will be in effect from 4am on Wednesday until 7pm on Wednesday evening. Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain pushing northeastwards on Wednesday could cause some localised flooding. The rain will begin in Munster in the morning but will extend nationwide as the day progresses. As the weather warning suggests, the rain will be heaviest in southern and eastern counties. It will be relatively mild day besides, with top temperatures of between 7 and 11 degrees. The outlook for the rest of the week is changeable, with rain and showers promised, but there will be dry periods as well.
