Spot flooding, sleet and snow is expected.
Following on from an announcement that snow is expect to fall in Munster and Leinster later today, Met Éireann has now issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow, Offaly and Tipperary.
The warning was issued at 7am on Wednesday, 13 November and will remain in place until 2am on Thursday, 14 November.
The warning forecasts that the seven affected counties should expect to see “a spell of heavy rain” which will “lead to some spot flooding and will turn to sleet and snow in places later today”.
There’s also a status yellow gale warning for any marine vessels with “northwest winds becoming northeast which will reach gale force 8 this afternoon and evening on Irish Coastal Waters”.
