Met Éireann has issued a wind warning for Mayo and Donegal

Take note.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal and Mayo.

The warning comes into effect at 7am on Thursday and is valid until 6pm on Thursday evening.

Met Éireann has warned of south to southwest winds which will grow in strength on Thursday bringing with them gusts of up to 90-100km/h.

There’s also marine warnings in place with both a gale and a small craft warning issued on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in the country, Thursday promises to be a wet and windy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards.

The main concentration of rain is expected in the west and the north of the country with only small amounts expected in other areas.

However it will be mild with temperatures of between 10 and 13 degrees.

The rest of the week promises to be rather unsettled with rain, showers and wind on most days.
