Met Éireann has issued a weather warning as the hottest day of the year looms.
A Status Yellow fog warning was issued for 20 counties due to a foggy start before what is likely to be the hottest day of the year.
All 12 counties in Leinster and all six counties in Munster, as well as Monaghan and Cavan were warned of poor visibility.
The warning was in place this morning from 6.30am until 9am.
Following the warning, today looks on course to surpass the current 25.9 degree temperature, which is the highest on record this year.
'Very warm' conditions with 'long spells of summer sunshine' and highs of 26 degrees are expected today.

The highest temperature of the year so far was recorded at the end of April in Athenry, County Galway.
However, with tomorrow set to be even hotter than today, that record will likely be shattered.
Tomorrow is set to bring a 'very warm' and 'humid' day, hitting up to 28 degrees, with the warmest weather set to be felt in northern areas.
The weekend's weather won't be quite as nice, with scattered showers expected on Saturday, with the possibility of thunder.
Sunday will be fresh and breezy, with slightly lower temperatures of 15-20 degrees.
