Summer is coming.
Or at least, spring is, and hey, that’s something, right?
It would indeed appear as if the worst of the winter weather is well and truly behind us, and thank God for that. With the sun comes promise, longer days, and the ability to sit anywhere that isn’t our own homes.
And while we’re not entirely out of the chilly woods yet, Met Éireann’s forecast for this week does suggest that we are definitely getting there.
For what seems like the first time in forever, this weekend will be largely dry and bright across the country, with temperatures as high as 12 degrees in some spots. 12 degrees! Can you even fathom it?
Naturally, there’s a slight chance of frost over some nights and there might even be a bit of drizzle here and there, but listen, as long as it’s nothing like some of the more adverse weather we’ve had recently, we’re sold.
According to the forecast, tomorrow (Friday) will be very dry and bright across the board, with temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate southerly winds during the afternoon.
Saturday will be cloudy in many areas to begin, but will brighten up through the morning. “There will be occasional outbreaks of light showery rain or drizzle during the day,” says Met Éireann.
“The western half of the country will have the best of the sunny spells through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light southwest or variable winds.”
Sunday’s got more of the same, with some fog and a bit of drizzle near the coast, but mainly bright in most areas with highs of 11 degrees.
Lovely few days ahead, all the same.
