“Mainly dry.” We’ll take it.
If you were lashed out of it on your way home from work on Thursday night then it’s safe to say that you don’t want a repeat of it over the weekend.
The past week has been very wet and pretty cold on occasion, but it’s looking up for the weekend.
Met Éireann has predicted that it will be mostly dry from Friday through to Sunday (there will, of course, be a few scattered showers) and temperatures will reach the mid-teens at times.
“Rain in the southeast will clear quickly this morning (Friday) to leave a day of sunny spells and passing showers, the Met Éireann forecast reads.
“The showers will be most frequent near western and northwestern coasts with good dry periods between showers. Highest temperatures 12 to 15 degrees with fresh to strong southwest winds easing later in the day.

“Further scattered showers overnight but the showers will become isolated across the eastern half of the country with long clear spells developing. Minimum temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in moderate southwest breezes, fresh along western coasts.”
Saturday and Sunday will be much the same, with a few showers, but most parts of the country will be OK.
“Most of the showers will be in Atlantic coastal areas in the morning, extending further east during the day,” the forecast continues.
“However, eastern and southern coastal areas will be mainly dry. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
“A fair amount of dry weather across the north of the country for a time on Sunday. However, heavy slow-moving showers or longer spells of rain in the south and southeast will extend to many areas during the course of the day. Highest temperatures ranging 11 to 15 degrees in mostly light southerly breezes.”
