Met Éireann predicts highs of 17 degrees later this week

Finally.

Let’s not sugarcoat it guys, the weather has been crap. Pure crap.

It’s cold, it’s raining, there’s a solid two hours of sun before the clouds roll in, the temperature drops and we’re all confined to our homes once again.

And while the return of restaurants and pubs should provide a respite from this consistent hell we’ve been living in, they’ll all be outdoor in June, so the weather would honestly want to sort itself out.

Thankfully, it appears as though we may be en route to better days, as Met Éireann has predicted highs of 17 degrees later on this week.

Monday and Tuesday will start off dull enough with cloudy skies and temperatures of around 11 degrees, but Hump Day is where things are expected to get a whole lot hotter, if not occurring with the ever present threat of showers.

According to the forecaster, Wednesday will be “a mainly dry day with just patchy rain in the southwest gradually clearing and just light showers occurring in the northwest.

There will be “some good sunny spells too, the best of which will be in the morning and evening. Feeling rather pleasant with highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light breezes.”

There is some uncertainty surrounding Thursday’s forecast, “but current indications suggest that it will be a dry and bright to start for much of Ulster and Leinster.

“However, rain and cloud in Connacht and Munster will gradually extend over the country through the day. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, southeasterly winds.”

Listen, we’ll take it. Friday is expected to harbour much of the same weather-wise, but apparently the weekend is set to be mostly dry with high temperatures remaining.

It’s only up from here, folks.
