Met Éireann has issued an update

We got a little too used to the sunshine and high temperatures over the weekend. The return of the rain felt like a little shock to the system, and our wardrobes, this morning, but the bad weather likely won’t last for long.

According to reports, the weather is set to improve later in the week with high temperatures forecast for Tuesday.

Met Éireann has confirmed that the bad weather will continue today, May 12th, but things will improve by Tuesday morning.

Today will be cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle forecast for most of the morning.

‘The cloud and rain or drizzle will move southwest this afternoon and evening, and it will brighten up a bit in the north and east. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with light to moderate northerly or variable winds.’

Met Éireann confirmed the weather will improve later in the week, but temperatures won’t be as high as the weekend.

‘There will be a good amount of dry and sunny weather tomorrow, but some showers will develop too, mainly over the southern half of the country.’

‘Some of the showers will be heavy, and thunderstorms are possible.

‘Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees, warmest in the west and north, in a light to moderate easterly breeze.’

Met Éireann confirmed that temperatures will range from the high teens to the low twenties throughout this week.

The news comes after a string of sunny days and high temperatures across Ireland.

The hottest temperature we’ve experienced this year so far was 25.9°C.
