Met Éireann warn about risk of spot flooding

Carl Kinsella

Flooding

As of Monday morning, the weather is quite simply disgusting.

Just the worst kind of rain. Sadly, Met Éireann don’t think that it’s going to get much better in the near future. According to their most recent national forecast (which can be read in full here), Tuesday is likely to see spot flooding in some parts of the country.

On Tuesday, we can expect: “Some dry weather in parts early tomorrow Tuesday, before quickly turning wet and rather windy. Heavy rain and onshore winds will bring the risk of spot flooding to some southern and eastern counties. The heaviest of the rain will become largely confined to the north and northeast by evening.”

There will be little reprieve on Wednesday, with the meteorological service warning it will be “rather dull with further outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent across the Ulster and Leinster”.

Overall, the outlook is described as: “Unsettled for the rest of the week with spells of wet and rather windy weather”.

The rest of the week carries showers of various natures, including “coastal” and “scattered”.

Sorry you had to hear it from us.
