Bad news for anyone with outdoor dining plans this week.
Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm and spot flooding warning as heavy widespread rain is set to hit the country from Sunday.
There will be widespread heavy showers today with a chance of thunderstorms and spot flooding during the afternoon and evening, especially across Leinster, east Connacht, and Ulster.
Sunshine will break through at times and it will become drier with sunny spells in the southwest during the evening. Highest temperatures will range from 15 degrees in the southwest to 20 degrees in the northeast.
Rain will be slow to clear northwards from Ulster tomorrow, with cloudier conditions there for much of the day. Elsewhere there’ll be sunny spells and showers which will become more frequent in the afternoon.
Highest temperatures will hit 16 to 19 degrees.
Monday will also see spells of persistent rain in parts of the country and lowest temperatures of between 9 to 11 degrees.
Tuesday morning will be mainly dry for much of the country, with rain or showers along the west coast moving eastwards later. Highest temperatures will be between 15 to 19 degrees.
There will also be further showers on Tuesday night with temperatures down to 11 or 12 degrees and showers will continue on Wednesday too with temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
It also looks like there will be a chance of drier weather developing for Thursday although still some showers around in the morning, they should be mostly light and ease up in the second half of the day.
Currently, Friday looks like a largely dry day, however, conditions are expected to remain fairly unsettled for the weekend.
