Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for 9 counties

Well… shit.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning which will affect nine counties, primarily on the west coast.

The warning was issued at 10am on Tuesday and will affect all of Connacht as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Clare.

The warning is valid from 8pm on Wednesday until 10am on Thursday morning.

Met Éireann has warned that on Wednesday evening and night, and for a time on Thursday morning, south to southwest winds, veering westerly, will reach mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 110 km/hr.

These winds will be strongest in coastal areas.

The warning comes after Met Éireann informed people that the current spell of sunny weather and scorching temperatures has come to an end.
