Met Éireann’s latest weather update is rather depressing

Alan Loughnane

Well… shit.

“No sign of any real settled weather into next week with temperatures still slightly below usual.”

That’s the essence of Met Eireann’s latest weather update, and what we have to look forward to over the next few days.

Wednesday will be dry in most areas with the risk of isolated showers. Overall, there should be some good spells of sunshine throughout the day.

Top temperatures will range from 16-20 degrees.

Thursday will again be a dry day but towards the evening, rain will approach from the northwest of the country. There will be mild to warm periods of sunshine with temperatures ranging again from 16-20 degrees.

But this is where it starts to turn and become more unsettled. Thursday night will bring scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle along the west. It will be breezy along the Atlantic coastline and rain will turn persistent at times there.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with scattered outbreaks of showers, there will be drier brighter spells too though, developing as of late afternoon.

It will be mild and humid as well so you may once again face that struggle between wearing a jacket to stay dry, but at the same time you could be absolutely roasting.

Saturday will be dry in most areas with some scattered showers, while Sunday will be cool with some nice sunshine early on. This will turn to rain in the afternoon and early evening.

Finally, Met Éireann conclude that there’s, “No sign of any real settled weather into next week with temperatures still slightly below usual.”
