The son of former Chelsea and Germany star Michael Ballack, Emilio, has tragically passed away at the age of just 18.
Emilio was holidaying in Portugal when he was killed in a quad bike accident, according to Portuguese TV channel TVI24.
The emergency services were called to the incident, but were unable to save the teenager's life after removing him from the vehicle.
Chelsea Football Club have issued a statement confirming the boy's death, expressing their deepest condolences to the Ballack family.
"Everybody associated with Chelsea Football Club is shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Emilio Ballack at the terribly young age of 18," the tweet read.
"All our thoughts are with his father Michael and his family at this sad time."

Michael Ballack is best known among English football fans for his spell at Chelsea, during which time he won a league and FA Cup double under Carlo Ancelotti. Outside of his time in England, he also led Germany to the final of Euro 2008 as the national team's captain.
