He was “behaving erratically” at the time of the arrest.
Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss was arrested over the weekend in Northern California after police found him intoxicated and behaving bizarrely with a flashlight, as reported by PEOPLE.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning after patrolling officers found the 38-year-old outside of a closed business complex along the main boulevard in Oroville, California.
Lieutenant Chris Nicodemus says that he was accompanied by three other individuals at the time of the arrest.
Nicodemus said that the group were “behaving erratically with flashlights” and that Weiss was shining a light into his own face.
Officers at the scene suspected that these individuals were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
It was later determined that Weiss – famous for playing the goalkeeper Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks films – was under the influence of drugs, according to Nicodemus.
The actor was detained for a few hours and was released without charges.
Nicodemus stressed that this type of arrest is a “routine” occurrence with regards to public intoxication arrests that are made in California.
This isn’t the first time that actor has been arrested though.
In August of last year, Weiss was arrested for possession of meth. That particular arrest came just five days after he’d been sentenced to 150 days in jail for stealing $151 worth of merchandise from an electronics store.
