Gardaí investigating following motorcycle hit and run in Dublin

A woman is in hospital in a serious condition.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious hit and run road traffic collision that took place in Dublin on Sunday, 24 October.

The incident took place on the Priorswood Road in Dublin 17 at approximately 11.15pm on Sunday night when a motorcycle collided with a female pedestrian.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where she is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle failed to remain at the scene.

At the time of writing on Monday morning, diversions have been put in place to allow for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct an examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from any road users who may have camera footage – including dash-cam – and were travelling near the Priorswood Road on Sunday night between 11pm and 11.20pm.
