Motorcyclist in his 40s dies following crash in Kilkenny

Two other motorcyclists were seriously injured in the collision.

A motorcyclist has died following a collision on in Kilkenny on Saturday (4 June).

The crash between the motorcycle and a car occurred on the R712 in the townland of Blanch Field Park in Clifden at approximately 4.50pm.

The motorcyclist, a man in his early 40s, was fatally injured in the collision.

Another two male motorcyclists were injured in the collision, and have been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where they are being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, and his passengers were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny with non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.

Any person who was travelling in this area between 4.30pm and 4.50pm is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) and were travelling in the area are asked to make this footage available.
