A man has died following a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Louth on Sunday, 2 October.
The fatal road traffic collision took place between a car and a motorcyclist on the R132 in Dunleer at approximately 1.15pm. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, later passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The man's body was removed from the scene and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Gardaí conducted a technical examination of the scene on Sunday evening. The road was closed off, with local diversions put in place.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any road users who may have video footage is asked to make contact with investigating Gardaí.
