Motorcyclist dies following collision with van in Cork

The collision occurred shortly after 6pm on Wednesday evening.

A man in his 40s has died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a van in Cork on Wednesday evening.

The collision occurred at approximately 6.15pm at Ballygroman Upper in the village of Ovens. No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí and Forensic Collision Investigators attended the scene on Wednesday evening; the road was closed to traffic and diversions put in place.

Gardaí at Bandon are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling between Begley’s Forge and Crossbarry on the L2218 at approximately 6.15pm on Wednesday to make this footage available to Gardaí.
