Motorcyclist killed in road collision in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing to any people who were in the area at the time of the collision.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that took place on the Old Navan Road, at the entrance to The Saddlers Estate, in Mulhuddart in Dublin.

The incident took place around 7.30pm on the evening of Wednesday, 4 September.

A 45-year-old male motorcyclist and a 50-year-old male driving a car were involved in the collision.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured and taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he later passed away.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted an examination of the scene, but the road has since been reopened to the public.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have witnessed the collision to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station 01 – 6667000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

They are particularly interested in speaking with a pedal cyclist who was also at the scene and may have witnessed the collision.
