The deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
Two men have died following separate falling incidents in the Mourne Mountains in County Down.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed the deaths on Sunday evening.
“Police received a request for assistance after a male was reported to have fallen while walking on Wee Binnian shortly before midday and received a further request for assistance after a male was reported to have fallen while walking on Slieve Commedagh shortly before 1pm,” said PSNI Inspector Frances McCullough.
Emergency services responded to the requests but it was later confirmed that both men died at the scene.
The deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
In another incident on Sunday, a third man was rescued from the Mourne Mountains having suffered a suspected broken ankle after a fall.
Inspector McCullough urged caution to the public, appealing to anyone to think and plan carefully before heading out for walks on the mountains.
McCullough noted that weather conditions can change quickly as people travel upwards on the mountains and asked anybody venturing out for such walks to notify someone where they are going.
Hillwalkers are also advised to inform their loved ones what route they intend to take, how long they intend to be gone for and to carry identification and a fully charged phone.
