Literal.

In a plot-twist pretty much straight out of Basic Instinct, an author who wrote a story titled How To Murder Your Husband has been arrested for the murder of her husband.

Nancy Crampton-Brophy, based in Portland, Oregon, is known for writing romantic-thrillers titled The Wrong Cop, or Hell On The Heart, or The Wrong Husband, and usually it features a beefy topless dude on the cover.

For purely artistic reasons, we’re sure.

Well, this week, the author has been charged with murder, after her husband was killed by a gunshot.

According to The Washington Post, the killing puzzled police and those close to Daniel Brophy, as the 63-year-old chef, was fatally shot at his workplace at the Oregon Culinary Institute.

Students were just beginning to file into the building for class when they found him bleeding in the kitchen, and police had no description of any suspect.

As of yet, police have not revealed how they came to settle on Nancy Crampton-Brophy as a suspect, or any possible motive for her committing the murder.

Meanwhile, she has not filed a plea, and her attorney declined to comment to press.
