Two Irish tourists missing as Nepal floods leave 162 dead

Among the hundreds still unaccounted for after the Nepal floods are two Irish nationals, according to reports.

The floods that tore through the Himalayan border region with China’s Tibet, killed at least 162, and that number may increase, local authorities said.

On Thursday morning, rescue helicopters were back in the air, RTÉ News reported, after a wall of mud and rock collapsed into a river and swept through the towns and valleys below.

Almost 600 foreigners were among 826 people missing in Nepal, police and tourism officials said.
