Naples Earthquake: Irish Family Feared They Would Die In Villa

Irish family caught in the Naples earthquake

Eimear Murphy described the frightening scene inside the damaged villa:

“The walls are all cracked, the stairs are cracked, we cleaned up the debris but our clothes are destroyed with dust. We are afraid the whole building is going to fall down.”

Italy’s civil protection minister Nello Musumeci warned that the volcanic activity was not yet over and urged caution as lower-intensity aftershocks continued through the night. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, the Murphy family said they were shaken but safe as they weighed up whether to cut their holiday short.
