There's no reports of any injuries at this time.

A major earthquake measuring 7.2 in magnitude has stuck off the coast of New Zealand according to the U.S Geological Survey. The quake hit 169 km northeast of Gisborne, New Zealand and had a depth of 30 km, tremors were reportedly felt in Auckland and Wellington. There are no immediate reports of any injuries or damage. The Gisborne District Council have urged people living along the coast to evacuate and move to higher ground while the Civil Defence are warning people to do the same according to Radio NZ. The earthquake was originally reported as 7.2 degree magnitude but has since been downgraded to 7.1.
