A significant achievement for the Niall Boylan Show.

The ever interesting and often controversial Niall Boylan Show on Classic Hits 4FM earned a sizeable boost to its reputation after taking home a best talk show award at the New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards Gala on Monday night.

Boylan’s show claimed the top prize in the ‘Best Regularly Scheduled Talk Program’ category, one of a host of Irish winners on the night.

Boylan’s show goes out from 9pm – 1am on Classic Hits 4FM from Monday to Thursday and is a forum for lively and often controversial discussion; it describes itself as “a show without boundaries” and says that “Niall is never afraid to deal with topics that other shows simply refuse to talk about”.

Late last year, Boylan drew attention to an incident at the PPI Awards in Kilkenny, where he claimed he was bullied by “very prominent” DJs during the ceremony.

Newstalk, RTÉ, UCD and Shannonside were amongst the Irish recipients of awards on the night; you can check the list of winners in full here.
