We’re calling the new currency the Yen Direction…we’ll keep working on that though
One Direction star Niall Horan already makes a lot of money and gets to go out with Barbara Palvin, much to our chagrin here at JOE, but now he’s even gone and gotten his face on some currency in his home town of Mullingar.
Don’t worry though lads, he won’t be appearing on the Euro (things aren’t that bad at the ECB yet) instead he’ll be on the ‘Gar’, as it’s known, a currency that tourists use in the town of Mullingar. Previously, other famous sons of the town have appeared on it, like John Joe Nevin after he won silver at the Olympics in 2012.
Horan’s head will grace the currency at some stage in 2014, and residents and tourists alike will be able to spend the cash at a few outfits that accept it. Here’s what it looks like, in case you were wondering.
We’re awaiting the day when they finally put JOE’s face on some money, the Mullingar tourist board must have lost our phone number. We’re way better looking than Niall.
Hat-tip to Mullingar Tourism for the pics
