What better way to occupy your guests this festive season than to make them aware of precisely how devastating a nuclear bomb would be if detonated near to their home?
Fortunately, you can do just that.

NUKEMAP has been around for a few years, but has recently gone viral after being featured in the
Data is Beautiful section of Reddit.
It allows users to type in the name of a city or town they'd like to nuke (in a virtual sense, obviously) as well as selecting the size of the weapon.
After this, they are presented with a map such as the one below - showing exactly how much damage such a bomb would cause.
Nuke Map estimates that there would be would be 232,880 fatalities if a B-61 bomb was dropped in the middle of Dublin tomorrow.
Handily, the colour-coded circles give information about the fireball radius, radiation radius, air blast radius and thermal radiation radius.
