Autumn is officially arriving soon.
While we’re all enjoying the late post-summer heat this weekend, it looks like it’s not going to last much longer, as Met Éireann predict a return to normal Irish October weather.
We’ll take it, though. After enduring a pretty miserable summer weather-wise, the last few days of heat have given us a little boost going into the autumn-winter months.
While today, Sunday, October 8, will remain pretty dry across the country – bar some light rain in parts of Ulster and Connaught – the national forecaster says that highest temperatures will hit around 18 to 23 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly or variable breezes. The predominant condition today looks to be mist and fog around the coast.
Warm & mostly dry apart from light rain in the northwest that will gradually clear this morning?
Cloudy with mist, fog & drizzle affecting southern coasts in particular, otherwise hazy sunny spells. ?️☁️
Showers may develop in the northwest later ?️

Conditions will be similar tonight going into tomorrow, with fairly mild temps, around 10-15 degrees, overnight.
Tomorrow, Monday, October 9, we’ll also enjoy some warm, hazy weather. Temperatures will be around 19-23C to start the week off. However, things will get a bit cooler and wetter as the night goes on, with “patchy light rain in the northwest early in the night.”
Here’s the national forecast for next week.
