One million people fled their homes after an enormous earthquake hit Chile yesterday

Very sad news.

Five people have died and a million more have had to evacuate their homes as a result of a catastrophic natural disaster in Chile yesterday.

The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 8.3, occurred off Chile’s coast last night and was so severe that the effects could be felt in neighbouring Argentina.

Geographically, Chile is unfortunately prone to earthquakes such as this one – but yesterday’s disaster is the worst to hit the South American country in almost six years.
