One new Covid-19 death confirmed, 24 new cases

The latest Covid-19 figures have been released.

One new Covid-19 death has been reported by the Department of Health, while a further 24 new cases were also confirmed.

There has now been a total of 1,764 Covid-19 related deaths in the Republic of Ireland.

Saturday’s figures mean that there has now been a total of 25,869 confirmed cases across the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

Saturday saw the news emerge that over 15.8 million people across the world have been affected by Covid-19.

However, this week saw a positive update on the subject of a vaccine, with experts in the US suggesting it could be here by next year.

It was also confirmed on Saturday morning that Ireland currently has a total of 10 positive cases of the virus in hospitals across the country, with only 5 in the ICU.
