Four counties have been issued with a Status Orange rain warning which will come into effect on Halloween.

Published by Met Éireann on Monday morning (31 October), the alert applies to Cork, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Waterford.

It will be valid from 12pm to 5pm on Monday and warns of “intense rain” that will “lead to some flooding”.

This latest alert follows a Status Yellow rain warning already being issued by Met Éireann for the entire country.

In effect now, it is set to remain in place until midnight on Monday.

On top of this, the UK Met Office has published a Status Yellow rain warning for all of Northern Ireland.

Also currently in effect, it is set to be valid until 10pm on Monday.
