Oscar Pistorius has been treated in a private hospital in Pretoria after suffering injuries to his wrists in prison, according to reports.
Spokesperson for the correctional services department, Singabakho Nxumalo, said that Pistorius told authorities he had injured himself after falling out of bed.
Reports in South Africa suggest that Pistorius suffered injuries to his wrists and he has since returned to the Pretoria prison where he is serving a six-year sentence for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
A fellow inmate of Pistorius’ told City Press that Pistorius harmed himself intentionally, while the report also claims that two warders with knowledge of the hospital section said blades were subsequently found in Pistorius’ cell during a search on Saturday afternoon.
