Pearl Jam star helps Wicklow band Florence Road after equipment was stolen

Eddie Vedder offered to lend them his guitars.

The Bray group had been due to perform at California's Ohana Festival but announced on Saturday that they would be unable to take to the stage after their gear was stolen from their van.

On Instagram, the band explained: “We’re absolutely devastated to say that we won’t be able to play our set at Ohana Festival today,” the band said in an Instagram post.

“Last night, all of our gear was stolen from our van in Los Angeles. Our guitars, pedal boards and everything we need to play our shows,” they added.

The band's guitars, pedal boards and other equipment were among the items taken.

Florence Road, made up of Lily Aron, Emma Brandon, Ailbhe Barry and Hannah Kelly, later revealed that they had managed to perform after all.

The band said Vedder offered to lend them his own guitars after hearing that their equipment had been stolen.

Sharing a photo with the Pearl Jam frontman, Florence Road described him as "a true gentleman" and thanked him and the wider Ohana Festival team for their support.

"What an insane 48 hours! We couldn’t be more grateful to Eddie Vedder and the whole team at Ohana Festival," the band said.

They also thanked the festival and Fender guitars, adding that their performance would not have gone ahead without the help they received.

"We have the best team of people around us and this show would not have happened without them! It does take a village!" they said.

Vedder founded the Ohana Festival in 2016 and headlined this year's event on Sunday, while also joining several other artists on stage during the weekend.
