People in Dublin are making an absolute bomb from Airbnb

A lot of people are buying into the service.

When most Irish people go on holidays now they'll look at hotels and hostels but Airbnb is becoming more popular by the month.

The house sharing service has exploded here over the last few years and a report released by Airbnb called Home-Sharing: the Positive Impacts on Dublin has broken down the figures.

It seems people in the capital are making a killing from hosting as more than 400, 000 visitors decided to use Airbnb rather than traditional accommodation in Dublin in 2016.

On average, a host in Dublin made €4,900 over that 12 month period with each host renting out their place for 50 nights. The overall boost to the city's economy is estimated at €275 million.
