Pic: BBC accidentally broadcast a photo of Prince William with a penis on his head this morning

We can’t say for certain but there’s a good chance that somebody in the BBC was fired this morning, or at least they will be before the day is out.

We can’t say for certain but there’s a good chance that somebody in the BBC was fired this morning, or at least they will be before the day is out.

That’s because as far as offences in the media across the pond go, they don’t come much more sackable than broadcasting a picture of the future King with a crudely drawn penis on his forehand.

What is being dubbed as the ‘Prince Willy’ moment occurred when comedy barbershop quartet Barbershopera were making an appearance on BBC Breakfast this morning, during which footage was shown of their music video ‘I could have married Kate’.

Researchers on the show obviously hadn’t been very thorough, however, because they failed to spot the fact that approximately 32 seconds into the video (see below), you can see a photo of Kate and Prince William, who just so happens to have a penis crudely scribbled in marker on his forehead.

BBC later apologised for the mishap, saying: “This image was shown fleetingly within a comedy promotional video for Barbershopera, a humorous barbershop group, who were appearing later on in the programme.

“The material was provided by Barbershopera but we failed to spot the offending material within it. We apologise for this.”

Talk about a royal cock-up.
