Guernsey’s most famous footballer – we assume that there are hundreds of them – Matt Le Tissier turns 46 today and we hope he has a great cake filled day because the Saints legend was always one of our favourite players to watch.
It’s easy to see why Southampton fans still refer to him as ‘Le God’ because he was a one-club man who had the unique ability to consistently score stunning goals.
Since finishing his playing days at the Dell, Le Tissier has earned himself a solid reputation as one of the Soccer Saturday jokers that Jeff Stelling tries to keep in check.
We have a soft spot for Le Tissier because he isn’t afraid to speak his mind, court controversy or have a laugh at his own expense.
The free-kick genius brilliantly ripped Yaya Toure’s famous birthday cake strop on Twitter today which made us laugh.
