Kind words in tragic circumstances.

The news of the death of British Labour MP Jo Cox is still very raw, after the 41-year-old was shot dead on Thursday at her advice clinic in West Yorkshire.

The late politician’s husband released a heartbreaking and powerful statement in the aftermath of the tragic incident, paying tribute to Cox’s “energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people.”

Many kind words have been shared by figures from various walks of life since the news broke, including Irish rock icon Bono, who posted this kind message on U2’s Instagram account.

The post reads:

“Jo Cox. A leading light who used her effervescent time on earth to fill it with joy and justice. She was a close friend to many of our team at @ONECampaign. We pray for her family and for the blessing she was to those who knew her and to the millions of people she never met, but to whom she devoted her life – Bono.”
