Because a protest wouldn’t be a protest without a little bit of ‘Down with this sort of thing’.

Although the signs proved completely ineffective when Ted and Dougal tried to prevent the Craggy Island community from watching the blasphemous ‘Passion of St. Tibulus’, their legacy has lived on through multiple appearances in the years since, from the most recent GTA game to Euro 2012 and the G8 summit in Fermanagh last year.

So when Irish lads James McMahon from Leixlip and Cathal O’Hagan from Monaghan wanted to make their presence felt at a protest in Taiwan over a contentious trade agreement with China, they could think of no better way to do so than to wield makeshift versions of the signs that have become world famous at this stage.

James and Cathal could have taken it one step further and handcuffed themselves to a nearby railing if they really wanted to make a point, but we’re sure those angry looking cops in the background got the message.

Hat-tip to Daniel Murphy for sending this one our way
