Pic: Chris Hadfield posts a picture of a spectacular sunset in Donegal

Hadfield’s knack for brilliant photos isn’t just limited to outer space, it would seem.

Hadfield’s knack for brilliant photos isn’t just limited to outer space, it would seem.

It was around this time last year that Chris Hadfield was wowing us with pictures of Ireland taken from the International Space Station and now, only days after agreeing to become an ambassador for tourism in the country, he’s already showing us the beauty that lies on our doorstep.

Hadfield was signing copies of his book ‘An Astronaut’s Guide To Life’ in Derry today and also visited a Gaelscoil in Buncrana on what has been a fairly extensive tour of the country during his brief visit so far.

JOE reader Ali Farren tells us that the picture is of Malin Head, the most northerly point in Ireland and part of ‘The Wild Atlantic Way’, a stretch of coastline that runs from the Inishowen Peninsula in Co Donegal to Kinsale, Co Cork, and the man himself describes the scene better than we ever could.
