So it’s not in contention for the Pulitzer Prize?
Here are a list of things that I understand about Kim Kardashian.
1) She exists, 2) Kim initially found fame because she was born into a privileged lifestyle, 3) she was in a sex-tape, 4) Kanye West is her husband, 5) Instagram is her addiction, 6) she tried to break the Internet for some reason and 7) ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ also exists.
That’s pretty much my understanding of her entire life. Oh yeah, this is her.
Clearly I don’t envisage myself writing a book about her in the near future but I’ll take comfort in knowing that not even Cormac McCarthy, Harper Lee or J.K Rowling could make Kim a box-office draw with readers.
Nielsen Bookscan have revealed that her selfie book, rather fittingly entitled Selfish, has only sold 32,000 copies so far. This figure represents just 0.8% of Kardashian’s Instagram followers.
Suffice to say, the reviews haven’t been good.
In the interest of fairness, there are some people that liked the book. I wonder if this is Kanye West’s online alias?
