Photos of the Dublin footballer’s attacker have been released…
The CCTV footage of Dublin footballer Jonny Cooper’s knife attack over the weekend was not shown on RTE’s CrimeCall tonight as Gardai felt the “frenzied” attack was too distressing for viewers.
The young GAA star was stabbed in the neck, shoulders and head on Dorset Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and while Gardai didn’t show the video footage, they have released a picture of the attacker.

Thankfully, Jonny was released from hospital on Saturday evening and tweeted his appreciation for all the support he received on what was an extremely difficult day.
