Pic: Irish teacher applies for job in Korea and gets a very anti-Irish response

Down with that sort of thing...

Down with that sort of thing…

We all know someone who has spent some time teaching abroad, mostly because they talk about it constantly for two to three years after they get home.

South Korea is one of the most popular spots for Irish people to settle down for a few months and shape the minds of local young people from Seoul to Changwon.

An Irish girl named Katie wanted to follow a similar path lately so she applied for a teaching job in Korea through Craigslist and the response she got back was a bit… well, it was a bit racist.

Korea Teacher Email

The image popped up on Reddit earlier and to be fair, our friends who have worked over there speak very highly of Koreans, as did many in the Reddit comment thread, so let’s hope it is a fake.

However, if we let ourselves believe it’s true. This is the way we react.

What about that sign off wishing Katie luck in the future though? That’s like kicking someone up the arse and then giving them a cushion for the rest of their day. Weird.

Hat-tip: Reddit.
