We’ve heard of the term cold-blooded killer, but this is taking it a bit far
It’s hot in Australia, too hot for most tennis players at the Melbourne open, in particular Jamie Murray who collapsed from heatstroke and Frank Dancevic, who claimed that he saw Snoopy as he was hallucinating with the heat.
It’s also too hot for the animals of Melbourne Zoo, and the keepers have found a pretty novel way for them to keep cool as temperatures soar above 40°C.
The lions Harari and Zuri, pictured here in the snaps from Macquarie Port News are being fed giant blocks of frozen blood, which they certainly seem to be enjoying as they cool down in the heat.
The bears at the zoo have a pretty interesting concoction of fish, meat, blood vegetables and strawberries, which sounds like some form of nouvelle cuisine meal, and Honey, the name of the female bear pictured, is definitely happy with her bizarre icepop.
We’ll stick to Loop the Loops thanks…
Hat-tip to Macquarie Port News and Paul Jeffers for the pics
