Irish people on Halloween, you have to love it…

JOE always feels that there are certain Irish Halloween traditions that must be adhered to every year or else the day just doesn’t feel the same.

On top of all the films and sweets we also have to throw fun snaps on the ground, go bobbing for apples (although water charges put a stop to that one) and somehow manage to avoid choking on the ring in our bric a brac.

All of these are grand but they pale in comparison to some of the absolutely bonkers craic that can be had from carving pumpkins and dressing up for the night.

Love/Hate pumpkins do seem to be a developing trend in Ireland but this one from JOE reader Shane Kenny is pretty special.

As for costumes, well we’ve received plenty of brilliant images, tweets and emails from all of you sound JOE readers but these two definitely stood out for us.

If you’ve ever wanted to know what Damo and Ivor looked like as pre-schoolers then this is for you.

As for some of the other entries, there is just so much to love about the mix of a little girl dressed up as the Alien from Ridley Scott’s seminal horror classic.

Happy Halloween everyone.
