Homenews

West Dunbartonshire Council were asked to build a wheelchair access ramp for a disabled girl. It cost £40,000. This is what they built.

Dunbarton council wheelchair ramp To be honest, we’re still shocked. Apparently they were restricted by building regulations and were forced to build it this way. It’s an eyesore for the owners and the neighbours and to compound matters, the local skateboarding fraternity have adopted it as their new home. It’s like a real life platform game. The council built it after the mother of the girl had campaigned for over two years for the ramp access. This certainly falls under the category of 'be careful what you wish for'.
