PIC: A teacher in Dublin received this ballsy bribe from one of his Leaving Cert students

Joe Harrington

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The thought of doing the Leaving Cert still brings us out in a cold sweat.

The hours of study, the lack of motivation, the learning of stuff you know you’ll never use again in your life, the pressure to do well, the CAO application, etc.

Christ, it was a tough time.

Irish kids are sitting the mock exams at the moment and one student in Dublin went to great lengths to make sure they got a good result in their Maths paper on Thursday.

The student, who attends a secondary school in Balbriggan, tried to bribe his teacher by offering up his credit card.

The teacher told us the story.

“It was a Leaving Cert student, had just handed up his mock maths paper, the teacher correcting the paper opened the paper to start correcting it and the inside cover discovered the credit card taped to it with PIN number trying to bribe the teacher for a good result for him and his buddies sitting near him.”

That boy has some serious neck, this is what the teacher found.

Our favourite part is that it was stuck to the page with a used Fanta wrapper.

If he’s willing to do that for the mocks, what’s he going to do for the actual Leaving Cert? Needless to say, the teacher returned the credit card to its owner.

Our advice; do a bit of study and there’ll be no need for a credit card.
