Students in a Thai university were recently snapped wearing what they call ‘anti-cheating hats’ and it’s safe to say, the hats look absolutely ridiculous.

Did you ever cop a peek at your neighbour’s paper during an exam? If so, then you probably could have done with wearing one of these ‘anti-cheating hats’ or ‘human-blinkers’ as we like to call them.

The picture was taken in the Kasetsart University (KU) in Chatuchak, Thailand, but according to faculty members from the college, it was actually the students who suggested wearing the hats in the first place.

Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai, a lecturer at KU’s Agro-Industry Faculty, told the Bangkok Post, ‘‘It was an agreement between us. No student was forced to wear a hat. Instead, all were happy to do so and thought it was fun. They felt more relaxed during the test.

‘‘It was not meant to indicate that Kasetsart students often cheat on exams. I apologise if the photo makes other people look at my students in a negative way.’’

According to the college’s student board, the anti-cheating hats were considered necessary because the room was small and many students were taking the exam sitting close to each other.

Reports also say that it was the first and last time the hats will be used at the university.
