Pic: One German paper absolutely destroyed Mesut Ozil’s performance against Dortmund

What's the German word for Schadenfreude?

What’s the German word for Schadenfreude?

In case you missed it, Arsenal were utterly hopeless in their 2-0 Champions League defeat against Borussia Dortmund last night.

Both sides were missing players through injuries but Jurgen Klopp’s men ran out deserved winners thanks to goals from Ciro Immobile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal’s German playmaker Mesut Ozil received plenty of abuse from the stands – he is an academy product of Dortmund’s main rivals Schalke after all – and the German journalists were just as critical of his performance on the pitch.

Bild use an odd rating system whereby a rating of 1 is ‘world-class’ and 6 is characterised as ‘didn’t earn his money’ and with that in mind, this graphic speaks for itself.

Ouch.
